Legal Education Exchange (LEX) Program

The Legal Education Exchange (LEX) Program is implemented by the US Russia Foundation for Economic Advancement and the Rule of Law (USRF).

The program aims to strengthen legal education in Russian and U.S. universities by the exchange of experience and best practices in modern teaching methodologies, including practice-based and interactive teaching techniques and those based on modern IT technologies.

The Program is implemented in partnership with Russian and U.S. universities. The Program will include conferences and practical workshops on teaching methodology, collaboration and implementation of new courses and teaching materials, as well as study visits for law professors. 

 Program Activities for Stage I (June 2014 – August 2015):

  • Opening  workshop in Moscow for Russian and U.S. law professors (July 2014);
  • Practical workshops on teaching methodology in Russian participant universities; development of Program web-site  (Fall 2014);
  • Development of new courses and teaching materials using practice-based approach to teaching law (December 2014 – February 2015);
  • Implementation of  the  new curricula and teaching materials developed (Spring 2015);
  • Final Conference for Phase I (Summer 2015).
